Oman Tourism Meet from 27-28 September

For attracting adventure fanatics to discover Oman’s varied offerings, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT), in association with Omran, will hold the first edition of Oman Tourism Meet from 27-28 this month at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center.

The ministry is aiming toimprove adventure tourism, since it is one of the speediest growing sections of tourism globally, attracting people willing to find out adventure activities along with encouraging eco-tourism and sustainable practices.

As per the newest global figures, the global adventure tourism market increased US$282.1bn in 2021.

It is predictable to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 15.2 per cent from 2022 to 2030.

The ministry said that the Oman Tourism Meet will be a wonderful chance to meet organizers, developers, researchers and anyonefascinatedwith adventure tourism, since it is one of those tourism products that the ministry aims toadvance and meet the objectives of the domestic and international tourists.

Regarding the ministry’s hard work towardimproving adventure tourism, Dawood bin Sulaiman al Rashidi, the director of Tourism Product Development in the Directorate General of Tourism Development, said that the ministry, in collaboration with the related authorities, is aiming to improve adventure tourism, including providing safekeeping and securitynecessities for workers and participants.

This will be achieved by arranging a legal and supervisory agenda for adventure tourism in the sultanate.
