“Our location and space is conducive to host international events”: Anousack Sivilay, GM, LWPC

Lao World Public Company (LWPC) was established to construct the pioneering international exhibition venue, the Lao International Trade Exhibition and Convention Center (Lao-ITECC), in Vientiane, the capital of Laos.

Over time, LWPC has evolved into a leading entity in retail, property development, and the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry within the country. Expanding beyond Vientiane, it has also established a presence in the south through its subsidiary, Lao World Savan Co., Ltd., which is tasked with developing the Savan-ITECC in Savannakhet. LWPC marked a significant milestone by going public on the Lao Securities Exchange on June 28, 2013, with TK Group Sole Co., Ltd. as its major shareholder.

This move underlines LWPC’s commitment to fostering community value and stakeholder engagement, showcasing its dedication to contributing positively to the local economy and the broader MICE sector in Laos.

In an exclusive interview with Travel And Tour World, Anousack Sivilay, General Manager (Exhibition Hall), Lao World Public Company shares how ITECC is working to host international standard events and exhibitions.

Travel And Tour World: Lao World Public Company (LWPC) has become a key player in the retail, property development, and MICE sector in Laos. Can you share how ASEAN tourism trends are influencing your operations and how you are experiencing the show?

Anousack Sivilay: Absolutely. The ASEAN tourism landscape is vibrant and continuously evolving, which significantly impacts our operations. We’ve been fortunate to be selected to host the ASEAN Tourism Forum, a testament to our facility’s capability to accommodate large-capacity MICE events. This selection underscores our venue’s appeal in the international scene, not just within ASEAN but globally, thanks to our comprehensive facilities and strategic location.

Travel And Tour World: Speaking of facilities, can you elaborate on the exhibition space available at ITECC for hosting various events?

Anousack Sivilay: Certainly. At ITECC, we pride ourselves on offering versatile spaces that can cater to a wide range of events. Our convention area, meeting rooms, and exhibition halls are designed to host anything from large-scale international conferences to trade shows and corporate meetings. The flexibility and capacity of our spaces make us an ideal location for event organizers looking for reliability and excellence in Laos.

Travel And Tour World: With such extensive facilities, how many events have you secured for this year?

Anousack Sivilay: This year is looking particularly promising. We’ve already been selected to host international motor shows and trade fairs from various sectors. Beyond these, we’re in discussions to secure an additional 35 events throughout the year. Our goal is to diversify our event portfolio, showcasing our ability to accommodate a wide array of professional gatherings.

Travel And Tour World: Can you tell us a bit about the connectivity and ease of access to your venue?

Anousack Sivilay: Accessibility is one of our strongest points. Our venue is strategically located, making it easily accessible for both local and international visitors. We have strong ties with the government and various sectors, enhancing our connectivity and making it convenient for attendees to reach us. These associations also facilitate smoother planning and execution of events, exhibitions, and conferences, ensuring a seamless experience for organizers and attendees alike.
