Taos Ski Valley, Inc., along with the Taos Ski Valley Foundation, jointly announced their contribution exceeding $500,000 through charitable gifts and in-kind support to the Taos and New Mexico communities in 2023. This collaboration between Taos Ski Valley and the Foundation, initiated by Louis Bacon following his acquisition of Taos Ski Valley, underscores their ongoing dedication to nurturing the vitality of the Taos and New Mexico regions. Both entities are committed to partnering with local groups to foster a positive impact locally.

Throughout 2023, their efforts bolstered a variety of local organizations engaged in educational programs, environmental preservation, food security efforts, and initiatives aimed at increasing outdoor inclusivity. This support mirrored their commitment to meet diverse community needs.

Key initiatives funded included contributions to The Nature Conservancy’s Rio Grande Water Fund for forest restoration, scholarships via the Taos Winter Sports Team to enhance access to snowsports, support for the Rocky Mountain Youth Corps’ El Salto forest restoration, and backing for Taos Supports Educators in providing biannual teacher appreciation breakfasts across 13 schools in Taos County. Additional efforts supported the Taos Land Trust in food security projects, the Shared Table for Thanksgiving meals for the homebound, and the Taos Coalition to End Homelessness in offering a clean, secure environment with access to essential services.

Dawn Boulware, VP of Environmental and Social Responsibility at Taos Ski Valley, Inc., emphasized the significance of collaborative efforts in making a tangible difference within their community. Ann Colley, Director of the Taos Ski Valley Foundation, echoed this sentiment, expressing gratitude towards their partners in Northern New Mexico for their dedication to conserving natural resources, providing crucial services, and offering forestry training and skills development to local youth.
