Dubrovnik, a striking city on the Adriatic coast in Croatia, is experiencing a tough situation related to over tourism, as yearly tourist number in this southern Croatian city continues to increase. The city in recent years with a UNESCO World Heritage site, has witnessed a huge rise in tourism with over 1.2 million visitors coming in 2019.

This has damaged the resources of the city, including its waste management, water supply, and transportation systems. The city’s narrow streets and historic buildings, at peak season remain packed with foreign tourists, thereby making the life of the locals pretty hard for locals in terms of their daily livelihood.
