Oyo state collaborates with FTAN to promote tourism

On Sunday, Ademola Ige, Special Adviser on Tourism to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, in a declaration explained that this was essential to make the tourism program of the Makinde administration of the state a reality.


On Friday, the Special Adviser, promised in Oyo State when the delegates of FTAN visited him formally.


He explained that the visit was a useful mechanism to make the tourism agreement of the state bring in faster results.
He observed that the visit was certainly an opportune one as it came when the state was gearing up for the celebration of the 2022 World Tourism Day lined up for Sept. 27th.


For the state, the World Tourism Day is a special day and its set aside to have fun at the same time encourage the rich potentialities of tourism of Oyo state.


Since the beginning of the celebration of the world tourism day, he said that they have been making it absolutely sure to take the private sector all along, particularly the FTAN members, with tourism promotion being the primary mission and focus.


Ige observed that the state had enormous capability of tourism resources, improving its economy, if additional funds were invested in the area of private and strategic collaborations.


FTAN South-West Coordinator, Mr Tunde Kolade, highlighted the urgency for an impartial state culture and tourism ministry to give the industry a practical voice.


Kolade said this was the only way for tourism to have structural and visible attention to effectively make a difference in the state economy.
