Belcourt
- Turtle Island Adventures Water Park: Nestled within the Sky Dancer Resort & Casino, this brand-new indoor water park boasts slides, a lazy river, an activity pool, and a play area for children. It not only offers fun water activities but also pays tribute to the Ojibwe culture, with the park’s name and theming reflecting the Ojibwe creation story. Turtle Island Adventures is just the beginning, with more family attractions like a trampoline park and arcade on the horizon.
Dunseith
- International Peace Garden Conservatory Expansion: The International Peace Garden, a beacon of beauty and diplomacy for nearly 90 years, is growing. The expansion includes a larger Conservatory for better exhibits and a new Children’s Play Area, aiming for a sustainable future. The project is expected to be unveiled in August 2024, aligning with the bloom of the garden’s 80,000 flowers.
Fargo
- The Wave: Fargo is about to get a splash of fun with The Wave by EPIC, a 40,000 square-foot indoor waterpark featuring a lazy river, slides, and pools for all ages. EPIC’s vision includes community collaboration to ensure accessibility for children across all income levels. Plans also include a hotel to enhance the experience, set to open in 2025.
West Fargo
- Junkyard Brewing Taproom: Taking over a retrofitted 1970s bank, this taproom offers a unique beer experience with a rooftop patio overlooking West Fargo and a bar around the old bank vault. It’s a place for community, craft beer appreciation, and engaging events.
Grand Forks
- The Olive Ann Hotel: Celebrating aviation history, The Olive Ann Hotel in downtown Grand Forks honors Olive Ann Beech’s legacy. The hotel features aviation-themed rooms, fitness and conference facilities, and a 350-person event center, along with exceptional dining experiences.
Minot
- The Minot Honeybees: As the newest team in the Northwoods League Softball, the Honeybees offer a platform for female collegiate athletes to compete in summer. The season starts in mid-June, with excitement building for the home opener on June 25.
- Union Silos: The transformation of Minot’s historic grain silos by artist Guido Van Helten into a mural celebrating local culture and heritage promises to be a highlight for both residents and visitors.
Pembina
- Pembina Gorge State Park: Soon to be North Dakota’s 14th state park, this area offers over 2,800 acres of pristine landscapes with trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and off-highway vehicles, plus kayaking on the Pembina River.
