The Penang International Travel Exchange 2024 strengthened global tourism connections, uniting international stakeholders and showcasing Penang’s immense growth potential.

The 7th edition of the Penang International Travel Exchange (PITE), a signature travel trade event, was held from October 8 to 10, 2024. Organized by Ace Conferences with support from the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB), PITE reaffirms Penang’s status as a top Business Events and Travel Destination in the Asia-Pacific region.

PITE 2024 attracted over 40 exhibitors from across Malaysia and more than 100 buyers from 14 countries, including India, China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Brunei, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and the US. The diverse participation underscores the event’s importance in promoting Penang’s tourism and business events industry on a global scale.

This three-day event facilitated valuable connections between buyers and exhibitors through pre-scheduled appointments and one-on-one meetings. It also fostered networking through various sessions, encouraging collaboration and idea exchange within the industry, both formally and informally.

PITE 2024 also offered a familiarization tour of Penang’s attractions, giving international participants a firsthand experience of the island’s charm. Highlights included visits to Penang Hill, The Habitat, Entopia Butterfly Farm, Tropical Spice Garden, and a Craft Batik workshop, showcasing Penang’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.

With a well-rounded agenda, PITE 2024 further elevated Penang’s standing as a premier destination for tourism and business events. The event continues to serve as a crucial platform for promoting Penang globally, driving growth in its business events and tourism sectors.
