Peter Blades joins Skyryse as VP of design, unveils revolutionary helicopter

Peter Blades, renowned for spearheading the interior design of both iterations of the Model 3, Model Y, the Semi concept, and the 2017 Roadster, has transitioned to Skyryse as the Vice President of Design. Skyryse recently made headlines with the launch of Skyryse One™, the pioneering fly-by-wire helicopter that simplifies operation to a single joystick and dual touchscreens. This innovation, now open for reservations, is setting a new benchmark in aviation, offering pilots and passengers unprecedented customization options. Before his impactful tenure at Tesla, Blades honed his skills at Nissan’s Silicon Valley Research Center, where he concentrated on human-machine interface (HMI) and comprehensive UI/UX design for the Infiniti lineup. His journey also includes a pivotal role at SpaceX, where he developed concept interiors for the Crew Dragon spacecraft, and at Kia, focusing on interior designs for both concept and production models.

Blades initiated his illustrious career at General Motors, co-leading the interior design for the celebrated GMC Granite concept car at their Advanced Design studio. His creative prowess was instrumental in devising and implementing interior design proposals for iconic models such as the Camaro, Impala, and C7 Corvette, in addition to leading the interior design efforts for GM North America’s mid-size trucks.

In his new role at Skyryse, Blades will directly report to the CEO, bringing his vast experience and innovative design approach to the forefront of aviation technology.
