With less than 50 days remaining until Queen Anne sets sail on her inaugural voyage, Cunard has unveiled some exciting new deck games for guests aboard its latest vessel.

For over a century, Cunard has been synonymous with luxurious deck games, and now they’re proud to announce an exclusive collaboration with Pickleball England, the governing body for one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK and North America. Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, offering entertainment for singles or pairs, indoors or outdoors. Queen Anne’s top deck will feature a cutting-edge Pickleball court for guests to enjoy.

In addition, Queen Anne will offer a unique opportunity for travelers to hone their archery skills with real bows and arrows, thanks to a new partnership with Archery GB. This partnership brings Cunard into contact with elite athletes and Olympic coaches, with onboard instructors accredited by Archery GB. As an official Archery GB activity center, the 3,000-guest ship will provide guests with the chance to receive personalized coaching, compete with fellow travelers, and experience a social introduction to this captivating sport.

The Sky Bar and Observation Deck aboard Queen Anne beckon to deck game enthusiasts with their breathtaking views and versatile offerings.

Situated at the ship’s forward end on deck 14, this all-day venue serves as a hub for various activities, boasting some of the most panoramic views of any outdoor space on board.

Golf enthusiasts can indulge in the putting green and fully stocked driving range, providing a picturesque setting for honing their skills against the backdrop of the glistening sea or picturesque port landscapes.

Additionally, the beloved deck quoits and shuffleboard courts are situated within the Observation Deck and Sky Bar, inviting travelers to partake in friendly competition while soaking in the magnificent scenery.

Katie McAlister, President of Cunard, said: “Whether it’s pickleball, archery, or world class shows and lectures, Cunard is committed to providing guests with a wealth of activities to choose from whatever mood or interest may take them. Our on board entertainment has always been at the heart of what we do, and we look forward to Queen Anne continuing this trend in the future.”

Pickleball England has experienced remarkable growth in recent years. Official statistics reveal a staggering 378% increase in Pickleball venues nationwide between 2019 and 2023. Membership in Pickleball England has surged to 20,000, a significant rise from just 2,000 five years ago. This surge mirrors the immense popularity of the sport in the USA, where an estimated 8 million players engage in Pickleball, including notable figures such as Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, and the Kardashians (USA Pickleball: Annual Growth Report).
