Princess cruises and Fincantieri postpone sun princess delivery

Princess Cruises and Fincantieri have jointly decided to defer the delivery of Sun Princess, the largest vessel ever constructed in Italy and the inaugural ship of an innovative platform exclusively crafted for the Princess brand. Unfortunately, this delay has resulted in the cancellation of the ship’s planned 10-day maiden voyage, originally scheduled to set sail from Barcelona on February 8th.

“We acknowledge the disappointment surrounding this announcement, and we share in that sentiment. We understand the excitement that surrounded this voyage, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this cancellation,” expressed John Padgett, President of Princess Cruises.

Guests who had reservations for the inaugural voyage will receive a complete reimbursement of the cruise fare, including any pre-purchased onboard services. Additionally, they will be granted a 50% future cruise credit (FCC) applicable to a forthcoming Princess voyage*. To assist with any alterations to air travel plans, guests will also receive up to $200 per person for change fees.
