Qatar Airways has unveiled its plan to shift operations to the newly established Manohar International Airport (GOX) in North Goa district, departing from the current Dabolim Airport (GOI) located in South Goa, India, effective June 20, 2024. This transition will see the continuation of a direct daily flight schedule, utilizing a combination of Airbus 320 and Boeing 787 aircraft.

The airline’s decision aligns it with other carriers preparing to utilize GOX, such as strategic partners IndiGo and Oman Air. Boasting modern infrastructure and convenient access to accommodations and public transportation, the new airport promises an elevated travel experience for passengers.

Qatar Airways has been serving Goa since its inaugural flights in 2009, marking the beginning of a longstanding partnership between Doha and Goa. The shift from GOI to GOX signifies an advancement in airport facilities, enhancing the journey for travelers accessing Qatar Airways’ extensive network spanning over 170 destinations.

GOX showcases a vibrant ambiance reflecting the local culture through a fusion of contemporary and Goan architectural elements. Additionally, its cargo facilities, featuring 25,000 metric tonnes of temperature-controlled handling capacity, position GOX as a pivotal export hub in the region.

Presently, Qatar Airways operates flights to 13 destinations across India, including Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Calicut, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, and Thiruvananthapuram.
