At OTM Mumbai 2024, one of the premier travel and trade exhibitions in Asia, Qatar Tourism spearheaded a delegation alongside 13 prestigious partners from the hospitality arena. Held at the Jio World Convention Centre from February 8th to 10th, the event served as a vital stage for Qatar Tourism to showcase its latest attractions to the Indian audience, connecting with more than 35,000 professionals from the sector.
Marking its most grandiose appearance to date, Qatar Tourism unveiled a two-story pavilion sprawling over 200 square meters, replete with distinctive features. The pavilion stood out for its augmented reality experience, where visitors were treated to a lifelike interaction with Qatar’s emblematic wildlife through an LED screen, making for memorable photo opportunities.
The exhibition was a strategic opportunity for Qatar Tourism to deepen ties with key markets outlined in its 2030 vision. Last year, Qatar saw an influx of around 420,000 Indian visitors, accounting for 10% of its total international visits, positioning India as the second-largest source of tourists following Saudi Arabia.
This edition’s booth welcomed contributions from a roster of partners, including Qatar Airways, Discover Qatar, Qatar Calendar, and a selection of premier hotels and resorts such as Hilton Salwa Beach Resort and The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort, among others. Additional participants included Q Moments as the Destination Management Company (DMC), Tawfeeq Holidays, Regency Travel & Tours, and Ali Bin Ali Travel, showcasing the collaborative spirit driving Qatar’s tourism sector.
