Boeing has moved closer to a major aviation milestone as its 737-7, 737-10 and 777-9 aircraft programmes enter the final stages of certification in 2026, with more than 4,800 flight hours recorded on the 777-9 test fleet and extensive regulatory reviews nearing completion. The breakthrough matters now because airlines worldwide are waiting for new aircraft capacity, improved efficiency and long-term fleet renewal options.

The remaining work involves closing technical approvals, completing documentation and finalising certification submissions to the FAA.
