Radisson Hotel Group breaks records in 2023, adds largest number of keys to global portfolio

Radisson Hotel Group concluded the year 2023 on a high note, achieving remarkable growth by incorporating more than 30,000 keys into its international portfolio across 10 prominent brands through a combination of new openings and signings. Since the initiation of its transformation plan in 2018, the Group has expanded its business by almost 50%.

The year 2023 marked a historic milestone for Radisson Hotel Group, setting a new record with the addition of over 30,000 keys to its portfolio through a combination of new openings and signings. Notably, the Radisson Blu brand maintained its position as the largest upper upscale brand in Europe for the 12th consecutive year.

Elie Younes, the Executive Vice President and Global Chief Development Officer at Radisson Hotel Group, expressed gratitude towards owners and colleagues for contributing to a successful year, highlighted by over 250 worldwide signings and openings and the unprecedented addition of over 30,000 keys to the portfolio. Anticipating a continuation of this success in 2024, Younes noted expectations of slower inflation and sustained investor interest in the sector. The Group remains committed to innovation, adapting to the evolving environment to create opportunities for owners and enhance guest experiences.

Key successes in 2023 include the opening of Hotel Berlin, Berlin, the Group’s first Radisson Individuals property in the German capital, and debuts in Paris and Thailand with Hotel YAC Paris Clichy and Lewit Hotel Pattaya, both members of Radisson Individuals. In India, the Group introduced two Radisson Individuals properties, Uday Palace Navsari in Navsari, and Palchan Hotel & Spa in Manali.

The Radisson Collection brand continued its growth trajectory, expanding into new markets such as India, Nigeria, Egypt, and Lithuania, with additional properties in existing markets like Belgium. The Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan, opened in 2023, marking the brand’s fifth property in Italy.

Radisson Hotel Group accelerated the global growth of the art’otel brand in collaboration with PPHE in 2023. This integration increased the Group’s brand portfolio to ten distinct brands, offering a unique blend of art and lifestyle. Noteworthy openings included art’otel London Battersea Power Station, with upcoming openings planned in Rome and London Hoxton.

The Group made significant strides in its Radisson Blu properties, including the flagship Radisson Blu Hotel at Porsche Design Tower Stuttgart and the signing of a new Radisson Blu hotel in the Triangle project in Paris. Other openings and signings were announced in Jordan, Morocco, India, Turkey, Poland, Saudi Arabia, and Nigeria.

Radisson, the fastest-growing brand in the industry, added nearly 40 properties in 2023, with significant expansions in Switzerland, the UK, Réunion, Budapest, Baku, and India.

The Radisson RED brand made its debut in Serbia with Radisson RED Belgrade, and also expanded to Helsinki, Tbilisi, and Phuket in 2023.

Resorts played a crucial role in the Group’s strategy, with additions in Greece, India, the Philippines, Fiji, Turkey, and Poland, where the Group is the largest resort operator. Resorts are expected to continue playing a vital role in the Group’s strategic growth plan in 2024.

Radisson Hotel Group received several prestigious awards in 2023, including being recognized as the third best employer in the Travel and Leisure industry worldwide by Forbes Magazine for the third consecutive year. The Group also received the Sustainable Business Award at the Global Travel Hall of Fame and the Environmental Impact Award at A World for Travel. RadissonHotels.com won five awards for its Immersive Content Project, solidifying its position as a leading website and app in the industry.
