Ras Al Khaimah International Airport has announced plans for a stand-alone VVIP terminal and private jet hangar, in a move that further cements the Emirate’s reputation as a fast-emerging destination for entertainment and tourism in the Northern Emirates. Announced during Dubai Airshow, the project is being developed with Falcon Executive Aviation, part of Alex Group Investment, and has been designed to establish the airport as an entry point of choice for VVIP travelers, investors, and users of private aviation.
Under a new agreement, Falcon Executive Aviation will develop and operate a state-of-the-art Fixed Base Operation facility at the airport. It forms one of the mainstays of Ras Al Khaimah’s aviation and tourism development strategy, extending the Emirate’s capability to receive high-net-worth visitors and consolidating its position in the UAE’s premium tourism market.

The new FBO complex will feature a 1,500 square metre VVIP terminal, an 8,000 square metre multi-purpose hangar and approximately 9,000 square metres of apron and aircraft parking areas. Its location is one of its biggest advantages. The airport sits just 15 minutes from Ras Al Khaimah’s leading beach resorts and the upcoming Wynn Al Marjan Island integrated resort, putting private jet passengers within quick reach of the Emirate’s flagship leisure, entertainment and hospitality offerings.
By connecting private aviation services directly to luxury resorts and future mega-projects, the facility will support Ras Al Khaimah’s ambition to attract more premium tourists, business leaders and investment delegations. The airport will serve not just as a transit point, but as a carefully curated first impression of the Emirate’s service standards and lifestyle appeal.

The planned VVIP terminal will be tailored to the needs of discreet, high-profile travelers. The design includes a Royal lounge, four VVIP lounges, and premium hospitality areas, all created to deliver a calm, refined and private environment away from the bustle of commercial terminals. Airside, the facility will provide ample aircraft parking, a helipad, and reserved areas for new forms of advanced air mobility and vertical take-off solutions, ensuring it remains relevant as aviation technology evolves. The entire project is being built to international aviation standards, with the Falcon Signature Experience promising high levels of privacy, efficiency and personalized service from arrival to departure.
The hangar complex will be able to accommodate a wide spectrum of private jets, including ultra long range aircraft, and will offer maintenance and operational support that aligns with leading global benchmarks. This combination of ground handling, storage and technical capability is intended to make the airport a compelling choice for owners, operators and charter providers.

While the facility is designed for the top end of the market, sustainability has been placed at the center of the project. The terminal and hangars are being developed to achieve LEED Gold certification, reflecting a commitment to green building standards and responsible resource use. Plans include offsetting around 35 per cent of total energy consumption through on-site solar power generation, the deployment of fully electric ground support equipment, and enabling the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for eligible aircraft.
These measures are aligned with broader efforts in the UAE to cut emissions from the aviation sector and support net-zero operational goals over time. By embedding these initiatives from the design stage, the project aims to become a regional reference point for sustainable private aviation infrastructure, showing that luxury travel and environmental responsibility can move forward together.
The VVIP and private jet project represents a substantial investment in Ras Al Khaimah’s aviation infrastructure and broader tourism ecosystem. The Emirate already benefits from a strong geographic advantage, sitting within four hours of flying time from roughly one third of the world’s population. Enhancing its ability to handle premium traffic is expected to support tourism receipts, attract new business ventures, and generate high-value jobs across aviation, hospitality and related services.
The collaboration with Alex Group Investment also builds on the group’s existing footprint at the Dubai Al Maktoum VIP Terminal, effectively extending its private aviation network across key points in the UAE. This integrated presence is expected to improve operational synergies, boost service consistency and offer clients a broader portfolio of VIP and VVIP travel options.
The new VVIP terminal and hangar complex will be constructed over the next 15 months, with the facility scheduled to open its doors in Q1 2027. When open, this will add another layer to Ras Al Khaimah’s positioning as an attractive, high-end destination, complementing its beachfront resorts, heritage sites, outdoor adventure attractions and upcoming integrated resorts.
The development is more than an airport upgrade for the Emirates; it’s a strategic investment in connectivity, tourism diversification, and long-term economic resilience. By combining premium passenger services, sustainable infrastructure, and proximity to major hospitality projects, Ras Al Khaimah is setting the foundation to capture an increasingly larger share of luxury tourism and private aviation traffic in the coming years.
