In the fiscal year of 2023, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport marked its busiest period in its 49-year history, serving over 79 million customers. The airport’s expansion included the addition of new global destinations, resulting in record-breaking levels of passenger traffic, aircraft operations, and revenues. Looking forward, DFW remains dedicated to revolutionizing travel through innovation and collaborative efforts with the community. As a leading advocate for sustainability, the airport aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2030, significantly ahead of the industry’s target.
The latest ESG report underscores DFW’s commitment to its workforce, clientele, partnerships, and the ongoing development of the North Texas region. Noteworthy achievements from fiscal year 2023 include:
- Approval of the new Use and Lease Agreement between DFW and American Airlines, setting the stage for the construction of an enhanced Terminal C and a new Terminal F.
- Commencement of the groundbreaking for the cutting-edge electric Central Utility Plant (eCUP), which will primarily utilize electricity sourced from 100% renewable origins, ensuring scalability for future airport expansion.
- A notable 81% reduction in annual CO2 emissions compared to the 2010 baseline.
- Receipt of multiple accolades, such as:
- Airports Council International (ACI) recognition as the Best Airport in North America (40M+ passengers) for the second consecutive year, along with acknowledgment for the Best Airport Employee Recognition Program.
- Leading in sustainability initiatives among airports.
- Acknowledgement as the Owner of the Year by the Construction Management Association of America North Texas Chapter (CMAA), highlighting DFW’s commitment to advancing construction management practices and fostering investment in related programs.
- Induction into the Healthiest Employers’ Hall of Fame and recognition as a national winner of the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America, as conferred by Healthiest Employers.
