The Victorian Government is improving tourism, generating more job opportunities, helping businesses to attract more visitors all over regional Victoria by displaying the best of their state and what it has to offer.

Today, Premier Daniel Andrews went to Oakdene Winery located at Marcus Hill to declare a $170 million regional tourism support plan that will take their sector to greater heights.

In Victoria, with visitor expenditure at a record $35 billion annually, this new support package will help construct the infrastructure projects of tourism that get visitor experience better and add to the visitor spending all over their state, generating new job offers, helping tourism operators and regional communities.

The $150 million Regional Tourism and Events Fund will make sure that their regional tourism offering carries on to be the very best by helping new events, attractions and more lodging facilities for tourists.

For Regional Events, the fund includes $70 million that will help Visit Victoria to get the biggest events to their regions, attracting dollars and visitors to the communities across the state.

To regional communities, big events can attract huge financial profits and that’s the reason they have by now delivered the Kings of Leon in Mildura, Foo Fighters in Geelong.
