Caribbean Travel Marketplace

Enrollment is now available for the 42nd edition of the Caribbean Travel Marketplace, hosted by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA), set to take place from May 20-23, 2024, at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Jamaica.

This leading event serves as a vital bridge between Caribbean travel and tourism providers and international purchasers, offering a vibrant arena for networking, collaborative efforts, and the exhibition of the Caribbean’s varied hospitality and tourism offerings.

“Marketplace presents a vital opportunity for industry leaders and travel professionals from across the globe to unite, forge partnerships, and pave the way for the continued growth and prosperity of the region,” said Vanessa Ledesma, Acting CEO and Director General of CHTA.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful business discussions aimed at promoting the Caribbean as a premier travel destination. The event will facilitate the renewal of old partnerships and the formation of new ones, allow for discussions on current industry trends, and unveil new methods for enriching the Caribbean travel experience.

On May 20, the Caribbean Travel Forum will celebrate its third year, emphasizing the commercial aspects of Caribbean tourism. The forum will cover a range of topics including collaborative marketing strategies, regional travel, flight connectivity, sustainable practices, technological advancements, workforce development, tax considerations, and tourism integration. Additionally, the CHTA Awards lunch will honor the recipient of this year’s Destination Resilience Award.

A notable addition this year is the Marketplace Responsible Tourism Day, scheduled for May 23. This initiative aims to foster sustainable tourism practices by encouraging contributions to the host community’s welfare in Jamaica. Participants will take part in activities that have a positive effect on the local environment, supporting a larger agenda for responsible tourism that prioritizes environmental sustainability, economic advantage, and cultural sensitivity.

“Since our initial efforts to aid hurricane victims in Puerto Rico at the 2022 Marketplace event, the inclusion of Responsible Tourism Day has remained a top priority,” said Nicola Madden-Greig, President of CHTA. “We are delighted that this year marks its official launch, solidifying responsible and sustainable tourism practices within our meetings,” she added.

The Caribbean Travel Marketplace and Caribbean Travel Forum 2024 are open for registration to all interested suppliers, buyers, and sponsors.
