In the vibrant city of Dubai, the countdown to the New Year is accompanied by a lavish spectacle as landlords and real estate agencies offer exclusive two-bedroom apartments with unparalleled views of the Burj Khalifa fireworks. These opulent accommodations range from Dhs 12,000 to a staggering Dhs 37,000 per night.

For those seeking a premium experience, Booking.com lists penthouses with rental prices soaring between Dh70,000 and Dh80,000 for a single night. The website also features upscale apartments available for rent from December 30, 2023, to January 1, 2024, with prices varying between Dh30,000 and Dh50,000.

Classified platforms like Dubizzle and short-term accommodation apps such as Airbnb are witnessing a surge in interest, with many properties already booked out. Vinayak Mahtani, CEO of bnbme holiday homes, revealed that downtown properties are commanding rental prices approximately 20-30 percent higher than last year. For instance, a four-bedroom penthouse is available for Dh37,000 for the night of the 31st, providing an unobstructed view of the fireworks, with a minimum three-night stay requirement.

Mahtani added that rates have increased compared to the previous year, emphasizing that the winter season rate for the same apartment is typically around Dh7,000 per night.

Despite the high prices, residents can find more affordable options by making early reservations, avoiding the hefty costs of table reservations at hotels and restaurants in popular party locations.

Mostafa Hammad, Head of Leads Management at Drehomes Real Estate, highlighted the challenges faced in securing available spaces, especially in Downtown areas. The demand has driven prices up, with some apartments reaching a staggering Dh160,000 per month for a four-bedroom apartment.
