The Future Aviation Forum (FAF) is set to return to Riyadh from May 20th to 22nd, 2024, convening 5,000 aviation experts and leaders hailing from over 100 countries. This gathering will bring together a diverse array of attendees, including ministers, regulators, manufacturers, airlines, and airport representatives. The primary objective of the Forum is to address the key challenges faced by the aviation sector. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote in person for the most pressing challenge in aviation, with the results slated for announcement on the final day of the event.

Building upon its past successes, the Forum anticipates significant outcomes, such as the sealing of more than 50 agreements and deals totaling $2.7 billion during its 2022 edition. Noteworthy commercial announcements are expected, encompassing equipment orders, connectivity initiatives, supplier collaborations, and the honoring of achievements and innovations in aviation through awards ceremonies.

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, and hosted by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Saudi Arabia, the Forum will revolve around the theme of “Elevating Global Connectivity.”

His Excellency the President of GACA, Abdulaziz-Al Duailej, said:

“The 2024 Future Aviation Forum will once again unite global aviation leaders to solve aviation’s biggest challenges, including manufacturing supply chain issues, capacity constraints and the development of human capital across the world. Saudi Arabia is committed to providing global leadership on these issues.

The Forum will also showcase the unprecedented investment, growth, and innovation opportunities being created across the Kingdom in support of Vision 2030, for investors, suppliers, and operators.”

FAF24 marks the beginning of an extraordinary week for aviation regulators and industry leaders, as the Kingdom gears up to host not only the Airport Council International’s annual general assembly but also several other sector events. These gatherings will witness the participation of top figures from the International Civil Aviation Organization and the International Air Transport Association.

Confirmed attendees for the event include prominent global manufacturers and leading airlines, such as Riyadh Air, Saudia, Flynas, and Flyadeal.Additionally, representatives from key Saudi Vision 2030 projects such as NEOM and Red Sea Global, along with major airports like King Salman International Airport, are set to be present.

Moreover, the Forum will serve as a catalyst for advancing the objectives of the Saudi Aviation Strategy (SAS), aimed at positioning the Kingdom as the premier aviation hub in the Middle East. This strategy, backed by over $100 billion in investments, is propelling significant growth in the sector. In 2023 alone, passenger numbers surged by 26% to reach 112 million, while flights increased by 16% to nearly 815,000, underscoring the momentum of the aviation industry’s expansion.
