Ryanair, Europe’s premier airline, has issued a statement today, March 25th, applauding the swift management changes within the Boeing team in Seattle. Stephanie Pope has been appointed as the new head of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, effective immediately, succeeding Stan Deal, who has retired from the position. Ryanair views these leadership transitions as essential steps toward enhancing Boeing’s operations and improving customer satisfaction.

The airline believes that the appointment of Stephanie Pope signals a positive direction for Boeing and its customers. With her new role, Ryanair anticipates a renewed focus on addressing critical issues such as the delays in Boeing 737 deliveries, which have been hindering the airline’s growth trajectory. By collaborating closely with Boeing’s CEO Dave Calhoun and Stephanie Pope, Ryanair aims to expedite solutions to these challenges and ensure smoother operations in the coming years.

Looking ahead, Ryanair remains committed to working hand in hand with Boeing’s leadership team to overcome obstacles and optimize performance. The airline is optimistic about the potential for improved efficiency and reliability in aircraft deliveries, which will be instrumental in driving Ryanair’s expansion plans forward through 2024 and beyond.

Ryanair’s CEO Michael O’Leary said:

“We welcome these much-needed management changes in Seattle. We look forward to working with Stephanie Pope to accelerate B737 aircraft deliveries to customers, including Ryanair in Europe, for Summer and Autumn 2024. We also look forward to continuing to work with Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun and CFO Brian West, and to helping Boeing recover its aircraft deliveries so that Ryanair can continue to grow strongly as Boeing’s no.1 customer here in Europe.”
