This groundbreaking legal instrument, conceived under the guidance of UNWTO during the pandemic, aimed to restore confidence in international travel.
From its inception, the Code has acheived the position of a pivotal tool to secure a framework for travelers, safeguarding their rights as consumers.
Simultaneously, it establishes standards of action and response within the tourism sector during emergencies, extending beyond pandemics.
Currently, 22 countries worldwide have already embraced the Code.
The event will assemble national and international experts from academia, leading tourism institutions, and the United Nations.
Discussions will delve into the principles and recommendations for aiding international tourists, with a particular focus on the protection of travelers utilizing digital tourism services.
Case studies from countries like Uruguay, already committed to the Code, will be presented.
Salamanca has been chosen as the inaugural host city for this significant Seminar, poised to become an annual gathering to propel Tourism Law as a newly incorporated domain within international law.
