San Diego Tourism supports around 214,000 jobs across several businesses

Tourism in San Diego backs almost 214,000 jobs across tons of businesses, fetching in $22.7 billion to
the city in 2022, said a report by the San Diego Tourism Authority.


As per the report, $13.6 billion of straight visitor expenditure was produced in 2022 by 28.8 million
tourists coming to San Diego. The joint indirect and prompted effects of tourism went to an extra $9.1
billion.


Resident leaders assembled on Wednesday outside the San Diego Zoo for announcing the first formal day of summer and tourism period and to screen few of the top allures this year.


Julie Coker, the President and CEO of the San Diego Tourism Authority said that their tourism spots, sports, restaurants and arts offer in excess of only lively fun and enduring remembrances. The $22 billion tourism sector of San Diego is an inspiration of the local economy, originator of decent jobs as well as a direct supplier to funds that profit the everyday lives of the inhabitants of San Diego.


The influence of tourism on the native economy relieved the tax loads by approximately $1,000 in every household in San Diego, said the officials. In 2022, the local tourism sector made over $1 billion in
tax proceeds across San Diego County, comprising $360 million in transient occupancy tax, which is
fundamentally a hotel tax.
