This week in Get a Room, SFGATE’s summary of news related to accommodations and hotels in and around San Francisco, a heart-to-heart conversation with Greg Flynn, whose venture Flynn Properties is one of the latest proprietors of the grand Huntington Hotel on Nob Hill. The plan is that by 2025, it would be reopened and return the hotel to its rich roots for noble guests.

Later on, in the 2022 tourism report of the San Francisco Travel Association, the findings were broken down and then bring in a new boutique hotel opening in Union Square. One can’t produce a legacy; however one can definitely buy it.

The Huntington Hotel is revitalized after remaining dormant for almost three years. A local luxury resort and hotel owner, Flynn Properties, collaborated with Highgate, the hotel management company, to obtain the Nob Hill icon in March. The sale price has not been unveiled; however, SFGATE was informed that it was less than the $56.2 million mortgage the earlier owner of the hotel, Woodridge Capital, owed to Deutsche Bank.

Closed from the start of the pandemic, this 135-roomed hotel, together with its adjacent The Big 4 restaurant and spa, encountered a turbulent monetary phase spoiled by a loan failure to pay and a tax lien against the property.

In the San Francisco skyline, still the building stands like an icon, as the rooftop sign bearing its name remains an icon forever.
