During March, the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport saw a notable increase in passenger traffic, with 553,521 travelers passing through its gates. This figure represents a 7.5% uptick from March 2023, when the airport served 514,889 passengers. This growth suggests a rising trend in air travel demand, potentially fueled by various factors such as improved economic conditions, increased tourism, or expanded flight options.

Looking at a broader timeline, the airport’s twelve-month activity up to March 2024 paints a picture of sustained growth. Over this period, a total of 4,415,951 passengers utilized the airport’s services, marking a 9% increase compared to the previous twelve months ending in March 2023, during which 4,048,419 passengers were recorded. This consistent upward trajectory in passenger numbers underscores the airport’s importance as a key transportation hub in the region.

“SRQ continues to reach a multitude of milestones. The total number of passengers traveling through SRQ exceeded half a million in a single month for the second time in the airport’s history, reaching a total of 4.4 million passengers in a 12-month period. We are delighted to see the commitment of our passengers in choosing SRQ for their travel needs during this period of significant growth and expansion,” stated Rick Piccolo, President, CEO of the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport.
