SAS has expanded its network from Scandinavian Mountains Airport (Salen Airport) by launching three new seasonal routes on January 25, 2025.

The new services connect Salen to Aarhus (weekly), Ängelholm (weekly), and Stockholm Arlanda (three times weekly), all operated by ATR72 aircraft.

These routes aim to enhance accessibility for winter tourism in the Nordic region, including ski resorts, dog sledding, and northern lights experiences.

Henrik Winell, Vice President of Network at SAS, emphasized the airline’s commitment to meeting the rising demand for winter travel in the Nordics: “We are pleased to offer Danish travelers a direct connection to Salen, making it easier to enjoy the region’s top ski resorts and winter attractions.

Salen Airport’s Growing Winter Connectivity

Salen Airport, which opened in 2019, has become a key hub for seasonal winter tourism.

Apart from SAS, the airport is served by Braathens, NyxAir, and TUI fly Netherlands, all operating during the winter months.

Additionally, TUI Airways will launch flights from London Gatwick (LGW) to Salen on December 21, 2025, while SAS will resume its London Heathrow (LHR) service on February 9, 2025.
