Saudi Arabia’s national tourism brand, “Saudi, Welcome to Arabia,” is launching the second phase of its global tourism campaign, “This Land is Calling,” with the theme “Where Winter Lights Up.” This campaign invites travelers from around the world to uncover the legends and wonders of Saudi Arabia during the winter season, with experiences awaiting in Riyadh, Jeddah, AlUla, and along the Red Sea coast. The series of events will run from October 2024 through the first quarter of 2025.

Saudi Arabia promises an array of attractions, from sports and entertainment to rich cultural and heritage experiences, designed to draw visitors into its enchanting winter offerings. This year’s calendar of events provides a unique opportunity to escape cold winter weather and embrace the warmth, sun, sea, and excitement that Saudi has to offer. Visitors can experience the authentic hospitality, joy, and adventure that are intrinsic to Saudi culture.

Known as a top destination for solo female travelers and those seeking immersive experiences, Saudi Arabia’s varied geography, landscapes, and cultural richness await discovery. From the vibrant capital of Riyadh and the cosmopolitan city of Jeddah to the clear waters of the Red Sea, travelers are encouraged to follow the sun and participate in major events like Riyadh Season, AlUla Festival, Diriyah Season, and the Dakar Rally. Iconic events such as the MDLBEAST music festival and the thrilling Fontana Circus bring additional cheer and excitement to the season.

The Riyadh Season returns with an expansive line-up, including the globally celebrated Harry Potter Experience, opening in Boulevard Riyadh City. Sports fans can look forward to the heavyweight boxing title match between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk on December 21 at the Kingdom Arena. Visitors will also find new luxury hotels and unique dining experiences, such as Diriyah’s Bujairi Terrace, where restaurants serve both local and international cuisine, including Saudi favorites like Kabsa.

In AlUla, the Ancient Kingdoms Festival, from December 8, 2024, to January 7, 2025, celebrates the area’s rich heritage with live performances, art, and culinary experiences. From January 18 to 20, 2025, the AlUla Wellness Festival will focus on holistic health and mindfulness with workshops and wellness retreats. A special event, “All Day I Dream,” will grace AlUla on March 1, 2025, blending music, art, and community.

Along the Red Sea, luxury hotels have emerged, including the St. Regis Red Sea Resort and Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve on Ummahat Islands. NEOM’s Sindalah Resort is also set to welcome guests soon. Visitors can explore diverse activities like stargazing, beach horseback riding, WingSUP, and snorkeling at Bayada Island. The Red Sea’s new PADI-certified Adaptive Dive Centers enhance accessibility for divers of all abilities.

Historical sites such as At-Turaif in Diriyah and Historic Jeddah, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites, showcase Saudi’s rich heritage, while destinations like Al Ahsa Oasis, one of the world’s largest natural oases, reveal the natural beauty of the region. Visitors can engage with locals through cultural experiences, from spending time at a traditional Saudi home to learning to cook authentic Hijazi dishes in a 150-year-old house in Jeddah.

For sports enthusiasts, Saudi will host major events like the Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah in April 2025, along with the Spanish and Italian Football Cups in January 2025.

The Riyadh Season will feature 14 zones across the city, each with unique attractions. Highlights include Riyadh Zoo, Suwaidi Park, Boulevard City’s comedy shows with Martin Lawrence, and the IV Crown Showdown boxing event at Kingdom Arena. Boulevard World, open 24/7 starting January 1, 2025, will host over 300 restaurants and 1,400 shops. At Boulevard Runway, visitors can even dine inside a transformed Boeing 777.

Saudi Arabia’s visa options have expanded, with eVisas available to citizens of 66 countries, as well as stopover and GCC visas. Visitors from the UK, US, or Schengen areas can now access instant eVisas, making travel to Saudi easier than ever.

Travelers can access Saudi’s diverse regions via new direct and budget-friendly flights. Flydubai offers twice-weekly flights from Dubai to the Red Sea, marking the first international flights to the Red Sea International Airport. Saudi is now connected to 175 destinations, working toward a target of 250, with 14 new routes launched in 2024.
