Scandic’s Committee picks Michael Levie and Frank Veenstra for new board members

Before the 2024 Annual General Meeting of Scandic Hotel Group AB, the Nomination Committee suggests Michael Levie and Frank Veenstra as potential new additions to Scandic’s Board of Directors. Concurrently, Grant Hearn and Martin Svalstedt have opted not to seek re-election.

The Nomination Committee advocates for Michael and Frank based on their substantial expertise in commerce and operations, particularly in growth, digitalization, and international investments.

Michael Levie:
Michael is a co-founder of citizenM, a pioneering hotel brand renowned for its digital initiatives and affordable luxury accommodations across Europe, Asia, and the US. He brings a wealth of experience from managerial roles at NH Hotels and Sonesta Hotels, complemented by an MBA in hospitality management from ESSEC Business School.

Frank Veenstra:
Frank possesses extensive knowledge in global investments, asset management, and hotel industry financing. His career includes pivotal roles at NH Hotels, the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority overseeing global hotel investments, as well as advisory positions and leadership roles in investment funds. Frank holds a Bachelor’s degree in hotel management from the Hotel Management School Maastricht and is also proficient in professional accounting.

The Nomination Committee also recommends the re-election of the following Board members:

• Gunilla Rudebjer
• Fredrik Wirdenius
• Kristina Patek
• Per G. Braathen (Chairman of the Board)

Per G. Braathen, the Chairman of the Board, extends gratitude to Grant Hearn and Martin Svalstedt for their dedicated service on Scandic’s Board.
