Kuala Lumpur is set to host a spectacular tourism promotion event on Sunday, December 7, 2025, when the Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) brings its popular “Seoul My Soul” campaign to Malaysia. The event will take place at Fahrenheit 88, a prominent shopping mall in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, and aims to enhance awareness of Seoul as a must-visit destination for Malaysian tourists.
This event is part of Seoul’s ongoing tourism campaign, which has been attracting more international travelers, particularly from Southeast Asia. The event is designed to promote the cultural vibrancy of Seoul, featuring interactive experiences and entertainment aimed at the Malaysian audience, with a special focus on the MZ generation — the millennials and Gen Z who are passionate about K-pop, K-culture, and K-food.

The event will feature several exciting Seoul-themed experience zones that will immerse visitors in the unique cultural and entertainment experiences Seoul has to offer. One of the key attractions is the Seoul brand photo zone, where attendees can take photos with Haechi, Seoul’s official mascot, and Jennie, a well-known K-pop idol, who has been chosen as the official promotional model for Seoul tourism.
In addition, visitors will be able to create Christmas postcards featuring iconic Seoul attractions such as Namsan Tower and Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), two of the city’s most popular landmarks that have gained global attention. The festive atmosphere will be enhanced with Christmas season installations to capture the spirit of the holidays.
Adding to the excitement, the event will include a Taekwondo performance by the famous K-Tigers, a renowned Taekwondo demonstration team. Local K-pop cover dance teams will also take the stage, showcasing the latest K-pop dance trends that have captured the hearts of young Malaysians.
As part of the on-site entertainment, there will be lucky draw events offering fantastic prizes, including flight vouchers and hotel stays in Seoul, giving visitors the chance to plan their next adventure to South Korea. K-snack giveaways, featuring limited-edition K-pop themed ramen (sponsored by Nongshim), will also add to the fun.

During the official program, Seoul’s Mayor, Oh Se-hoon, will make a special appearance to promote Seoul’s rich cultural heritage. Mayor Oh will introduce popular filming locations in the city such as Namsan Tower and Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), which have recently gained global recognition. The Mayor will also participate in a lighting ceremony for the Seoul Christmas Tree and “Santa Haechi”. This will be followed by a point-choreography session, where audience members can join in and learn a fun routine.
The event is expected to run from 16:00 local time and will provide a dynamic program that brings Seoul’s cultural richness to life, engaging the audience through entertainment, educational experiences, and personal interactions with the city’s iconic landmarks.
The event is an important part of Seoul’s broader efforts to increase engagement with Malaysian travelers, a growing market for South Korean tourism. In 2024, Seoul saw a significant increase in Malaysian visitors, thanks to the growing popularity of Korean content (like K-pop and K-dramas) and the expansion of direct flight routes between Seoul and Malaysia. With Malaysia’s economy showing robust growth and increased middle-class spending power, the demand for overseas travel has skyrocketed. Seoul is eager to tap into this momentum, and events like “Seoul My Soul” aim to attract more visitors from the Southeast Asian region.
Kil Ki-yeon, the CEO of the Seoul Tourism Organization, emphasized the significance of this event, stating that Malaysia has one of the highest interests in Korean tourism in the Southeast Asian market. He noted that the younger generation’s enthusiasm for K-content and Seoul’s growing reputation as a cultural hub are key drivers of the increasing demand for travel to Seoul. Through this event, the STO aims to foster closer relationships with potential Malaysian tourists, showcasing Seoul’s cultural offerings and highlighting a wide range of experiential programs that encourage more visitors to experience the capital of South Korea.
By organizing “Seoul My Soul in Kuala Lumpur”, the Seoul Tourism Organization is offering a sneak peek into the rich cultural experiences awaiting travelers in Seoul. With events like this, Seoul aims to solidify its position as a top destination for international tourism, especially for Malaysian visitors who are increasingly attracted to the city’s vibrant lifestyle, historic landmarks, and unique offerings.
If you’re in Kuala Lumpur on December 7, this event is not to be missed. Whether you’re interested in K-pop, Taekwondo, or simply learning more about Seoul’s fascinating tourist attractions, there’s something for everyone. The event promises to be a memorable experience that brings a taste of Seoul’s charm right to the heart of Malaysia.
