Shakira lit up New York City with a free Times Square concert, unveiling her album “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” marking a bold return to music.

In a spectacular tribute to her newest music collection, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” the iconic She Wolf lit up New York City’s Times Square with a spontaneous free concert on a Tuesday evening. This event marked the grand unveiling of Shakira’s first album in seven years, signifying a resolute step away from pausing her musical journey “for love.” The performance wasn’t just a treat for those gathered in the heart of the Big Apple; fans around the globe could also tune in through a live stream. This unexpected concert captivated audiences with its brilliant showcase on the TSX Entertainment billboard.

Kicking off the festivities on the TSX Stage, Shakira electrified the crowd with her chart-topping single “Hips Don’t Lie,” encouraging a massive sing-along and dance-off to one of the most iconic singles ever released.

Shakira’s performance was nothing short of magnetic, drawing in a huge audience with her classic rhythms and dynamic presence on stage. Throughout the evening, she delighted fans with selections from her latest album, including “Cómo Dónde y Cuándo,” and wrapped up the night with a stirring rendition of “BZRP Music Sessions Vol. 53.”

The globally beloved performer took to Instagram before the show to share her excitement about the surprise gig, inviting her followers to join the festivities live in Times Square or via stream, in partnership with TSX Entertainment and VinFast.

Her twelfth studio release, via Sony Music Latin, is an all-Spanish venture consisting of 16 songs, boasting high-profile collaborations with music industry luminaries such as Cardi B, Ozuna, Karol G, Rauw Alejandro, Fuerza Regida, and Grupo Frontera.

Among the album’s highlights is the track “Punteria,” a collaboration with Cardi B. The album also features a diverse array of songs including “La Fuerte” (with Bizarrap), “Tiempo Sin Verte,” “Cohete” (with Rauw Alejandro), and many more, culminating in a rich tapestry of sound that resonates with Shakira’s unique artistry.

Drawing from the emotional rollercoaster of her separation from soccer star Gerard Pique, Shakira’s latest project has garnered acclaim, with several critics awarding it high ratings for its heartfelt lyricism and inventive musical direction.
