Recently, the chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and chairman and CEO of Emirates airline and Group, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, has topped Forbes Middle East’s Top 50 Travel and Tourism Leaders list.
The listing throws spotlight on 50 leaders who’ve motivated growth in the travel and tourism industry of the Middle East, to build upon their aspiration to connect once again with other countries of the world.
In the first half of the 2021-22 fiscal year, Emirates airline and group’s revenue reached $6.7 billion. Paul Griffiths, Dubai Airports CEO ranked third on the list.
For this month’s list, UAE dominated the chart with 24 of the leaders featured based in the UAE. Next is Saudi Arabia with 11 and Egypt – 4. On the list, the hotels and hospitality sector is the most dominant with 26 entries, followed by aviation with 17, and tourism with seven entries.
