Singapore Airlines Kris+ app expands in Australia through Airwallex partnership

Singapore Airlines’ Kris+ has chosen Airwallex, a prominent global fintech platform, to drive the expansion of its lifestyle reward app for over 1.3 million KrisFlyer members in Australia.

The Kris+ app integrates dining, retail, and entertainment discounts, enabling users to accrue miles through everyday spending or utilize them for purchases and experiences. Airwallex’s Payment for Platforms in Australia will be employed by Kris+ to facilitate customer payments and merchant payouts.

Arnold Chan, Airwallex’s General Manager of Asia, stated, “Kris+ by Singapore Airlines sought a partner that could provide a suite of payment processing and financial solutions to modernize their payments infrastructure and better serve their customers.”

Luke Latham, Managing Director of Airwallex Australia and New Zealand, emphasized the significance of the partnership, especially with the increasing international travel to Australia. He said, “Partnering with Kris+ by Singapore Airlines to expand their KrisFlyer program in Australia is a great example of this, and we’re so excited to be helping them reach their customers here.”

With the number of international visitors to Australia reaching close to 1.75 million in October 2023, Kris+ aims to add value to tourists and businesses in the country. Kris+ users in Australia can earn up to three miles for every dollar spent at selected partners in Melbourne and Sydney. Additionally, new Kris+ users can earn up to 2,000 bonus miles until December 31, 2023, upon making payments of at least AU$15 on the app. The program is expected to grow rapidly, with around 100 partner merchants anticipated to join within the first month, including popular brands like Benjamin Barker, The Ugg Shop, D1 Store, and 124 Shoes.
