The 2025 edition of SCSM broke several records, marking a significant achievement for the marathon’s organizers and participants alike. One of the key highlights of the event was the expanded Double Up Challenge, where nearly 850 runners pushed their limits by completing two races in one weekend. This challenge saw participants like Singapore’s own Soh Rui Yong, who made history as the first-ever double champion, winning both the Half Marathon on Saturday and the National Championship Marathon on Sunday.

In the elite races, Uganda’s Abel Boniface Sikowo successfully defended his title in the men’s Gold Label Marathon, clocking a time of 2:15:40, while Ethiopia’s Shuko Genemo claimed the women’s title in 2:41:24. Both athletes took home the USD $50,000 prize, and both praised the fast course and favorable weather conditions, which contributed to some of the fastest times seen in the marathon’s history.
