The surpassing of Covid-hit Hong Kong by Singapore in the last two editions of the Global Financial Centres Index might have come with some effects: The inflation of the city-state has surpassed its competitors in almost every monthly reading in the last two years.

The February consumer price index of the Asian financial hub increased 6.3% from the year before, almost four times the reading of the 1.7% CPI increase of Hong Kong.
