Today, LATAM Group unveiled its operational data for January 2024, showcasing a notable milestone with over 7 million passengers transported, marking an 18.5% surge compared to January last year.
This upswing primarily stems from the resurgence of the international sector, witnessing a remarkable 32.7% surge in transported passengers, buoyed by the peak season in South America. Across domestic markets in Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, figures surged by 29.9%, while the Brazilian affiliate experienced a 4.9% uptick in domestic passenger traffic.
LATAM Group expanded its consolidated capacity, measured in available seat-kilometers (ASK), by 13.9% versus January 2023. Particularly, international operations saw a robust 22.3% growth, while domestic operations in Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador escalated by 18.8%.
The consolidated passenger traffic, gauged in revenue-passenger kilometers (RPK), surged by 20.2% compared to January 2023, chiefly fueled by a 32.5% spike in international demand and a 24.2% rise in demand across domestic markets in Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador.
In January, LATAM Group achieved a consolidated passenger load factor of 85.6%, up by 4.5 percentage points from January 2023, primarily propelled by a 6.8 percentage point surge in the international load factor.
