Travel disruption is on the cards as parts of the U.K. are expected to be bombarded with snow. The Met Office has issued yellow snow warning. The warning covers southeast England, East Anglia and the greater London area. Snow should also be expected over Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and northern Wales. It’s going to be a cold and frosty start to the east of the UK on Tuesday.
Tuesday morning will see snow over Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland. A band of rain through the Irish Sea, brings rain, sleet and hill snow with it, mainly to parts of Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and possibly northern Wales.
There is already a yellow snow warning out for parts of central and south eastern England, with two to three centimetres of snow expected quite widely and possibly five to ten centimetres over some higher ground.
The impending snow could lead to travel hazard as flights and rail services could be delayed or cancelled. Rural communities and villages could be cut off due to the snowy conditions and power supplies could be affected.
The new weather warning for snow and ice is in place from 9 pm on Tuesday until midday on Wednesday.
