Kazakhstan has recently established direct air traffic with five European Union countries: Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, and the Czech Republic. The Kazakh Transport Ministry reported that two Kazakh airlines and three European carriers collectively operate 34 flights per week between these regions. Notably, during the summer months, this network expands to include Greece, increasing the number of connected countries to six.

The Kazakh delegation, headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu, participated in the 21st meeting of the European Union-Kazakhstan Cooperation Council held in Luxembourg. During this significant event, Saltanat Tompiyeva, chair of the Kazakh Civil Aviation Committee, and Simon Brain, policy officer for international aviation at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport, took a crucial step by initialing an agreement.
