This upward trend has been attributed to the scenic beauty, snow-covered peaks, and diverse adventure offerings that make Sonamarg an ideal getaway for tourists year-round.

Nature and Adventure: Sonamarg’s Appeal

Tourists have flocked to Sonamarg for both its natural beauty and the variety of activities available. Sunil Kumar, a domestic visitor from Maharashtra, expressed his amazement at the breathtaking views and serene landscapes, saying, “The beauty of Sonamarg is simply breathtaking. Factors Driving Growth in Sonamarg Tourism

A number of factors have contributed to Sonamarg’s growing popularity as a tourist destination. One of the most significant drivers of this surge has been the success of events like the ice-skating competition, which has attracted attention from adventure enthusiasts and sports fans. The growing interest in winter sports such as skiing, snow biking, and ice skating has positioned Sonamarg as an ideal location for winter tourism.

With the new ice rink and expanded range of activities, the SDA is hopeful that Sonamarg will continue to attract international visitors and become a leader in winter sports tourism in the region.

Additionally, the tourism department is focusing on creating a more welcoming environment for visitors, with plans to improve transportation links, accommodation options, and the overall visitor experience.
