South African Tourism selects Kristy Angellotti as the head

South African Tourism is happy to declare the selection of Kristy Angellotti as the Head of Trade Relations North America, commencing on Tuesday.

Angellotti in her role will connect with the SAT North America team to develop current relationships with North American travel trade partners, at the same time working with the US and Canada’s new distribution channels to sell South Africa as a leisure and business events destination.

Jerry Mpufane, President North America Hub, said that they are thrilled to greet Kristy back to South African Tourism. North America is the fastest growing overseas tourism market of South Africa and her decade-plus exposure in selling African travel to the audiences of North America will fortify the trade and sales strategy of the team toward constant growth in tourist arrivals from this significant market.

From 2013-2017, Angellotti got her start in the African travel trade as SAT’s Manager: Trade Relations (West Coast). Before that, for 10 years, she worked in travel trade media and consumer media. After her departure from SAT in 2017, she got important working experience for an industry-leading collection of safari lodges and a luxury tour operator at the time of traveling at length across the African continent.

Angellotti observed that, throughout the years South Africa has remained her preferred country to return to again and again. Re-joining the SAT North America team is a major excitement.
