To encourage Canadians to discover Spain’s unexplored destinations, the Tourist Office of Spain in Toronto is launching an innovative project. To promote Spain’s abundant landscapes, culture, and adventures, they created a podcast titled “Finding Spain From Canada”. Designed specifically for Canadians, this podcast draws on the expertise of Canadian journalists and travel experts to provide unique insights into Spain’s less-traveled areas.
The inaugural episode of “Finding Spain From Canada” is now available on Spotify, with a new episode to be released every eight weeks until the end of 2026. As this podcast series is created for Canadians, it places emphasis on unique adventures and destinations outside of the regular tourist attractions in Spain. As the Tourist Office of Spain increases its initiative to promote unexplored destinations, this podcast series is expected to expand.
The podcast aims for the dedicated audience to appreciate the rich cultural history of Spain and the various cultural destinations in the country, including the lesser-known ones. The audience in Canada is able to explore the history of the place. In the podcast, Spain’s history and culture come alive, and the destinations beckon for a visit to experience the rich Renaissance and Baroque era history of Castilla y León, as well as the other culturally important areas of Seville, León, and the Gran Canaria and Tenerife Islands.
In a Canadian episode, Canadian travel journalists and specialists in the region will discuss the travel experience. Local experts and travel journalists will paint and describe the cultural and natural environment, people, culture, and food of the region. In the Canadian episode, Spain’s travel professionals will depict what travel to Spain is like and what the experience looks like. Every episode will provide the experience to visit the most important cultural and Spain’s travel destinations. Spain’s vacation destinations will be included in the bookings in large numbers as the audience will experience travel to Spain.

One of the main objectives of the new podcast series is to shine a light on the less popular areas of Spain that are neglected by the typical tourist crowds. Since most travelers visit Spain’s most popular areas, like Madrid and Barcelona, the podcast series is designed to focus on other equally beautiful tourist destinations, like Seville, León, and even the less busy Canary Islands. These less-touristed destinations have a diverse range of stunning natural environments, rich cultural heritages, and impressive historically significant sites that have yet to be explored.
The podcast series gives a unique opportunity to explore Spain’s under-appreciated areas, with each episode featuring a different under-visited region of Spain. The intention of the series is to encourage Canadian tourists to travel to the less-visited tourist destinations. The series is designed to give the Canadian tourists a fresh perspective on Spain that allows them to explore culturally rich areas that are less touristy.
The most dedicated marketing organization of Spain as a travel destination has been the Tourist Office of Spain. Their campaigns such as the one called “Finding Spain From Canada” reflect the passion that the organization has for helping Canadians connect with the many diverse and beautiful areas of Spain. The podcast aims to offer real travel stories and expert advice and a whole lot more to encourage Canadians to travel to Spain and go beyond the big cities and discover the hidden gems that excite Canadians about Spain.
As the podcast evolves, new episodes will be about a different region of Spain and one of the many cultural elements that those regions have to offer. “Finding Spain From Canada” has utilized a broad variety of Canadian and Spanish contributors and has the potential to be a great travel tool for all those who wish to discover unexplored parts of Spain.
