G Kishan Reddy, the Union Tourism and Culture Minister declared a special tourist train, which will cover the “Ambedkar Circuit”.

Reddy inaugurated a three-day meeting of state tourism ministers in Dharamshala. Around 3,000 distinct railway coaches have been set aside for the advancement of tourism circuits. Similar to the Ramayana and Buddhist Circuits, a special train will be running on the Ambedkar Circuit.

In June, a special train was run experimentally on the Ramayana Circuit, which included conspicuous places related with the life of Lord Ram, comprising Ayodhya and Janakpur in Nepal. This is expected to become a regular feature, specifically before the 2024 opening of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

At the Dharamshala event, Reddy said that the Tourism Ministry has charted an action plan for various circuits under its Swadesh Darshan system. Planned in 2016, the Ambedkar Circuit includes Madhya Pradesh’s Mhow, the birthplace of Ambedkar; Nagpur, where he adapted to Buddhism; the house in Delhi where he lived all through his last years and Dadar in Maharashtra, where his body was reduced to ashes.

The three-day tourism ministers’ meeting will deliberate subjects linked to the tourism sector, comprising luring tourists from abroad, growing domestic tourism, widespread improvement of tourist destinations and elevation of home-grown activities in the domestic segment. Special focus will also be given on eco-tourism, wildlife tourism, green tourism and medical tourism.
