Spirit Airlines has received the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) top honor for aviation maintenance technician safety for the year. This marks the sixth year in a row the airline has secured the "Aviation Maintenance Technician Diamond Award of Excellence."

Spirit Airlines has been awarded the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) highest distinction for aviation maintenance technician safety for the year, securing the “Aviation Maintenance Technician Diamond Award of Excellence” for the sixth consecutive year. This accomplishment is a result of Spirit’s continuous investment in safety-focused training programs for technicians and the entire team.

“The continued learning opportunities for our maintenance technicians help enhance their technical skills and emphasize the importance of safety in everything we do,” said John Bendoraitis, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Spirit Airlines. “Thank you to our Team Members who prioritize operating a safe airline every day and made this recognition possible for the past six years.”

The FAA mandates that all of an airline’s maintenance technicians undergo extra safety training courses developed by the FAA over the course of the year. To be eligible for the award, every maintenance technician is required to successfully complete annual specialized and continuous training in aviation maintenance, regulations, and FAA rules.
