As summer vacation planning commences, it has been disclosed by a representative of Spirit Airlines that the low-cost carrier is set to expand its services out of San Diego by introducing five new destinations this upcoming summer.
The airline, which is headquartered in Florida, is poised to initiate daily nonstop flights from San Diego International Airport, extending its network to include Baltimore, Houston, Portland, Sacramento, and Salt Lake City.
The schedule for when Spirit Airlines plans to begin offering daily flights to these new destinations is as follows: Flights to Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) are set to commence on May 21, to George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston on May 8, to Portland International Airport (PDX) on June 5, to Sacramento International Airport (SMF) on April 10, and to Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) on June 20.
With the addition of these routes, Spirit Airlines will operate a total of eight nonstop routes from San Diego. It is noteworthy that the airline, which initiated its services at San Diego International Airport (SAN) in 2011, is already facilitating flights to Oakland, Las Vegas, and San Jose.
