The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) is thrilled to announce the selection of Ms. Lavenia Fine Naivalurua as the new Executive and Special Projects Manager.
Known colloquially as Fine among her peers, she brings a wealth of experience in administration and executive support gained from her extensive work in both the Public and Private Sectors.
Christopher Cocker, the CEO of SPTO, emphasized the significance of the role, recognizing it as the linchpin for executing tasks that align with the organization’s strategic objectives.
SPTO is confident that Ms. Naivalurua’s remarkable skills and vision will play a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s ongoing initiatives. This includes promoting SPTO’s projects, fostering partnerships, and engaging in various endeavors. Additionally, she will be instrumental in supporting SPTO’s research, data collection, and sustainable tourism efforts throughout the Pacific region.
Mr. Cocker highlighted SPTO’s current major project, the Pacific Digital Transformation Project Phase II, funded by the New Zealand Government. This initiative aims to revolutionize destination marketing, sustainable planning and development, as well as tourism data and statistical information for the Pacific region’s tourism recovery.
Fine is equipped with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Tourism, Management, and Public Administration, along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Diplomacy and International Affairs. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of the South Pacific. Prior to joining SPTO, Fine served as the Senior Administrative Officer in the Private Office and Executive Support at the Office of the Prime Minister in the Fiji Government.
