Statement – National Demonstration 20 June

Monday, June 20, 2022

Favorite

On Sunday evening 19th June around 8.00pm, Brussels Airport decided that no passenger flights will be allowed to depart from Brussels Airport on 20th June. This is a consequence of the national manifestation and strike of a large part of the security staff of G4S.

Brussels Airlines already cancelled more than 50% of its flights for 20th June and is now forced to cancel its remaining flight programme, with the exception of certain flights with transfer passengers for whom security screening is not required. This concerns eight flights on which only passengers who are continuing their journey to another destination via Brussels Airport will be accepted.

“Passengers whose flight has been cancelled will be informed by e-mail this evening. We are doing our utmost to find alternative solutions for them. We are aware that our Service Centre is very busy. However, we ask our customers not to go to the airport tomorrow if their flight has been cancelled, as we cannot change their booking there. We are concentrating our efforts on our Call Centre to offer the large number of affected passengers a solution as quickly as possible. We regret the impact of this action on our customers.”
