In July 2024, the renowned national arena of Sweden, Friends Arena in Stockholm, is set to undergo a name change to Strawberry Arena. This transformation stems from a new partnership forged between the arena’s operator, Stockholm Live, and the hotel group Strawberry. The collaboration signifies Strawberry’s commitment to providing a diverse array of experiences for guests, members, and customers in conjunction with Stockholm Live.

Situated in Solna, just outside Stockholm, the arena presently serves as the backdrop for major events and sporting spectacles in Sweden and the Nordic region. The rebranding to Strawberry Arena encapsulates a vision of vibrancy, courage, and excitement, symbolizing a space where top-notch concerts, emotional football moments, and inclusive gatherings unfold. Owner Petter A. Stordalen expresses immense pride in the renaming, emphasizing Strawberry’s dedication to evolving the largest meeting place in the Nordic region alongside Stockholm Live.

The partnership commences amidst a dynamic year featuring national team matches, Stockholm derbies, and headline concerts by global icons like Taylor Swift, Pink, and Bruce Springsteen. Strawberry Arena hosts a spectrum of events, including Melodifestivalen, Tech Arena, and Sweden International Horse Show. Stockholm Live welcomes this collaboration as a robust, long-term partnership with local engagement.

Johan Mägi, Commercial Director at Stockholm Live, hails Strawberry as a dream partner, united in their passion for hospitality and delivering unparalleled experiences. The partnership extends beyond events, offering guests a holistic experience encompassing food, accommodation, and curated events at Strawberry Arena. Exclusive perks include a VIP entrance, tailored member events, and Strawberry lounges in collaboration with nearby hotels Quality Hotel Friends and Comfort Hotel Solna.

Carl Oldsberg, Chief Digital Officer at Strawberry, underscores the significance of the arena’s renaming as Strawberry Arena, marking a pivotal moment for the company in Sweden. He emphasizes Strawberry’s broad spectrum of offerings, from everyday experiences to once-in-a-lifetime events, with the goal of spreading the message that diversity in the world is as crucial as diversity in experiences.

The commitment of the Friends Foundation against bullying will endure at the arena, extending through a new collaboration agreement to Stockholm Live’s other arenas. As for the facts about the National Arena in Solna, it stands as Sweden’s premier venue for men’s football, accommodating events on various surfaces with a retractable roof for year-round use. With a seating capacity of 50,000 for football and up to 60,000 for concerts, the arena has hosted iconic artists and continues to be a hub for sports and entertainment, welcoming millions of visitors annually.
