Stuart De San Nicolas appointed Cluster GM for three Minor Hotels Maldives resorts, bringing over 30 years of global hospitality experience.

Stuart De San Nicolas has recently been named the Cluster General Manager for three distinguished resorts in the Maldives: Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, Avani+ Fares Resort, and NH Collection Maldives Havodda, starting from December 23, 2023. Bringing a vast array of experience spanning over three decades in the hospitality industry, Stuart’s career has seen him thrive in varied locations across continents including Europe, South America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific, equipping him with the necessary skills for his new leadership position.

Hailing from Spain, Stuart transitions to Minor Hotels from his previous role as General Manager at Conrad Bora Bora Nui, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing the resort’s luxurious services. His journey in the hospitality sector commenced in 1993 with the Hyatt Regency group in France. Over the years, he has honed his expertise in the industry, taking on various roles in different departments, from front office to food and beverage, across the globe.

In his career spanning over two decades, Stuart has held the General Manager position at several prestigious establishments. These include Altapura in France, Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Hotel & Spa in Mauritius, Marriott Islamabad, Pik Palace and Park Chalet in Azerbaijan, Hotel Paracas in Peru, The St. Regis Mauritius, and Le Meridien Bora Bora. His leadership skills are well-established, and he has been successful in leading and motivating large teams, ensuring that they deliver top-tier experiences for guests, consistently exceeding their expectations.

Dillip Rajakarier, Chief Executive Officer of Minor Hotels and Group Chief Executive Officer of Minor International, expressed enthusiasm about Stuart joining the Minor family and leading the team in the Maldives. He noted Stuart’s extensive experience and commitment to service excellence as key factors in enhancing Minor Hotels’ presence in the region.

Stuart expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to manage three of the Maldives’ finest luxury resorts, highlighting Anantara Kihavah as a paragon of paradise. He looks forward to steering this award-winning resort, along with the newly introduced Avani+ and NH Collection brands, reinforcing Minor Hotels’ significant market presence in the Maldives.

Anantara Kihavah, one of Minor Hotels’ flagship properties, is set on an island within the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. It features 80 luxurious villas and residences, offering a variety of dining experiences, including the renowned SEA Underwater Restaurant, and an array of leisure facilities such as an outdoor cinema, kids club, water sports, and dive centre. The Anantara Spa provides guests with a range of wellness treatments.

Avani+ Fares Resort, another gem in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, is a family-friendly resort with 176 stylish villas and residences. It features seven dining venues, diving facilities, a fitness centre, and a contemporary spa. The resort also caters to younger guests with a vibrant kids and teens club.

NH Collection Maldives Havodda, situated on a private island in the Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, offers 120 beach and overwater villas. It features three restaurants, two bars, and extensive leisure facilities, including a swimming pool, fitness centre, spa, sports court, kids’ club, water sports and dive centre, with the option for guests to obtain a scuba diving license.
