For the first time in 2019, Sumner County will organize a tourism conference, further positioning the county on the map as a destination.
The Spotlight on the Southeast Tourism Conference will be organized in Gallatin July 8-10, 2019.
“Half of (attendees) are like us, tourism organizations, but the other half are tour operators looking for places to visit, so this will give us great opportunity to showcase Sumner County,” Sumner County Tourism director Barry Young said.
The conference attracts over 100 people, who will put up in a local hotel and go on short tours of the county.
In the previous times, the event has been held in Birmingham, Alabama, Richland, Mississippi and Asheville, North Carolina.
Spotlight regional conferences include educational seminars, networking and a trade show.
