Sunkesula Dam site to be developed like Brindavan Gardens in Mysore

The Sunkesula Dam site will soon be developed similar toBrindavan Gardens in Mysore concerningtourism development in the state, said Kurnool district collector P. KoteswaraRao. The existing tourist spots including Rock Gardens, Gargeyapuram Tank and other centers will be modernizedkeeping all amenities for luring tourists.


Due to long pending proposals over improving tourism circuits in the region, KoteswaraRaocommenced the beatification of Sunkesula Dam premises, located near Kurnool city.


The collector urged the tourism department to develop the dam premises like centuries-old Brindavan Gardens. “Within six months’ time, the dam site should be beautified as a tourist spot. Development of greenery with huge plantations and also open theatre for the amusement of tourists should also be taken up,” Mr. Raosaid. Boating facilities would be there for tourists similar to Vijayawada Bhavani Island. The redecorated gardens would be great for spending weekends, he said.


A mini zoo park would also be established in Devaragattu reserve forest area. A light show will be set up on historic KondareddyBurujuand tourism officials have beenasked to remodel the fort for flag hoisting on every Independence and Republic days.
