The 2024 Taipei New Year’s Party has concluded with resounding success, uniting a formidable array of performance artists from across Taiwan. The event featured the inaugural 1+4 diverse stage setup, drawing in over 170,000 enthusiastic attendees. Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an, alongside Asian Games, Asian Para Games, and professional athletes, took center stage for the midnight countdown. The festivities included a spectacular 300-second “Colorful World” fireworks display, marking the collective ushering in of the new year, 2024, with hope.

Themed “Taipei Let’s Play,” the Taipei New Year’s Eve Party showcased a relay show on the main stage, boasting a powerhouse cast of 15 celebrity performances. Kicking off the night, Mavis set the tone with a captivating performance, paving the way for a night filled with diverse activities.

At 7 pm, the band 831 officially launched the show with “Upside Down World.” Subsequent acts, including WeiBird, Crowd Lu, HUSH, Matzka, and LaLa Hsu, delivered electrifying performances, creating a dynamic atmosphere with a mix of psychedelic rock and soulful tunes. Collaborations such as the “Golden Melody 2 Kings & 1 Queen” trio and cross-genre performances by IT BOYZ and O-Kai Singers added to the energy. The super-hot girl group SUNNY PARFUM also graced the stage, delivering a fiery performance of “The Future Is Now.”

MIXER brought a medley of Golden Melody award-winning tunes with their distinctive rock style, while R&B princess Julia Wu introduced a new repertoire. South Korean star Hwasa showcased her latest work, “I Love My Body,” captivating the audience with her mesmerizing dance skills. Power Station, with their classic hits, had the crowd singing along.

Before the midnight countdown, 27 accomplished athletes, including Huang Hsiao-wen, Wang Kuan-hung, Li Yi-ya, Lin Yi Chun, and Lee Meng Yuan, made a surprise appearance. Mayor Chiang Wan-an expressed gratitude to the city government team and citizens, highlighting Taipei’s progress and safety. He emphasized Taipei’s recognition as the happiest city in Taiwan and its status as one of the world’s safest cities.

The Mayor commended the collaborative efforts of the city government team, involving 1,700 police officers, over 700 cleaning-team personnel, 100 firefighters, and the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation’s “Tidal Day Team.” He praised the athletes as the pride of Taipei City and expressed optimism for the future.

Accusefive closed the night with a specially rearranged version of their hit “Sun Chaser,” accompanied by the Moment Musical orchestra. Their performance of classics like “Night Life. Take Us to the Light,” “Somewhere in Time,” and “Miss You Day and Night” provided a fitting conclusion to the 2024 Taipei New Year’s Eve Party.

The Department of Information and Tourism, Taipei City Government, highlighted the extensive collaboration across departments and organizations to ensure a wonderful, safe, and convenient New Year’s Party. Approximately 7,000 personnel were mobilized for traffic management, on-site order maintenance, garbage removal, environmental restoration, and other tasks, culminating in the systematic restoration of affected areas by 2 am.
